Former Dillman’s Furniture and Mattress has served Muncie community for 40 years
Warren, MI—Hoosiers have a reason to celebrate as Art Van Furniture opens their fourth store in Indiana. The furniture and mattress retailer has announced the opening of a 41,857-square-foot store in Muncie, Indiana. Formerly Dillman’s Furniture and Mattress, the store is hosting a special grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, located at 4701 N Wheeling Avenue.
“We are proud and excited to continue our legacy under a strong brand like Art Van Furniture,” said John Dillman, owner of the former Dillman’s Furniture and Mattress store, who will continue operating the store. “This opportunity gives us the ability to expand our product offerings, elevate our customer service and delivery experience—ultimately enabling us to grow our customer base.”
The Dillman family has been serving East Central Indiana since 1976 with stores in Kokomo, Peru, Anderson and Marion, Indiana. In August of 2001, John and Colette Dillman opened the Dillman’s Furniture and Mattress Muncie location, and the veteran furniture retailers will continue operating the Art Van Furniture location.

All employees have been retained, with additional hiring slated in the coming months. The new store will be home to many favorite Art Van Furniture product lines, including Art Van PureSleep and Art Van Clearance Center. The store is also undergoing extensive remodeling before grand opening.
To celebrate the addition of the Art Van Furniture brand, the community is invited to join the team at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, June 7th. The ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m., featuring fun for the whole family, including live music, entertainment and refreshments.
Art Van will open to the public at 10am, May 25th.
