MUNCIE, IN—Woof Boom Radio is happy to announce the winners for the 10th Annual Morry Mannies Woof Boom Radio Scholarship. We want to congratulate each of the nominees for their achievements this season and overall career as student-athletes. We have awarded $34,200 to 34 student-athletes in the last ten years.
Woof Boom Radio funds a scholarship program for athletes from the schools we cover each year, be it through WMUN “The Talk of Muncie” or on Oldies 101.1 WHBU. Athletic Directors from these schools send their nominations, and an independent committee chooses the winners based on leadership in sports and the classroom.
Allie Clark, Alexandria-Monroe High School, has been awarded this year’s Female Madison County Morry Mannies Woof Boom Radio Scholarship. Athletic Director Mickey Hosier says Allie “represents everything good about Alexandria.” She is an all-conference tennis and volleyball athlete. As a student, she is involved in the National Honor Society and is in the Top 25 of her senior class. Allie is a high-energy, highly enthusiastic student-athlete. She has natural leadership abilities, which are shown in the classroom and on the athletic field.
Anson Isaacs, Yorktown High School, has been awarded this year’s Male Delaware County Morry Mannies Woof Boom Radio Scholarship. Athletic Director Paul Heidenreich says Anson “is a young man of high moral character and is always willing to help others.” In tennis, he is a four-year letter winner, team captain, academic all-conference, youth coach, Indiana Tennis All-Star, and Sectional Champion. He also played basketball and baseball. As a student, he has over a 4.0 GPA and is in the Top 10 of his senior class. Anson is extremely humble, always smiling, and willing to lift people up.
Nate Moore, Frankton High School, has been awarded this year’s Male Madison County Morry Mannies Woof Boom Radio Scholarship. Athletic Director Brent Brobston says Nate “is held in high esteem by his fellow classmates and teachers here at Frankton.” He played tennis for two years and is 1st Team All-Conference 2024 in basketball and baseball. He is a 2024 Academic Hall of Fame and Spanish Honor Society Inductee and a member of the National Honor Society and Best Buddies. Nate makes everyone around him better because of his approach to practice, games, and life.
Renee Voss, Muncie Central High School, has been awarded this year’s Female Delaware County Morry Mannies Woof Boom Radio Scholarship. Cowan Principal Chris Walker says Renee “has done it all at Muncie Central High School and in most cases has helped lead every group, club, or sport she has participated in.” She participated in volleyball, swimming, and track. She is #2 in the graduating class of 2024, Senior Class President, and National Honor Society President. Renee truly wants what is best for everyone and is a positive person to be around.
Congratulations to all those nominated. The four winners will receive a $1,500 scholarship. Sports Directors Mark Foerster or Zach Johnson will present the scholarships to the students at Senior Awards events in May.
