Muncie, IN—The Board of Directors of the Muncie Arts and Culture Council is bidding a fond farewell to executive director, Braydee Euliss.

Euliss has accepted the position of executive director of Indianapolis Contemporary. Euliss’ work with MACC began in 2015 when she joined the board of directors. She became engaged quickly with the work of Muncie Arts and Culture Council, especially in the areas of marketing and advocacy, as she started her journey learning about the non-profit universe. She accepted the role of executive director in September 2017 with the goal of connecting with more people who were committed to an ambitious, arts-oriented vision for what’s possible in Muncie. She then went to work to help bring that vision about.

Euliss has been instrumental in growing the Muncie Arts and Culture Council into its role as the city’s Arts Partner. During her tenure, the City of Muncie received its first grant from the National Endowment of the Arts’ Our Town program to support PlySpace, an Artist-in-Residence program that has attracted applicants from around the country and in which visiting artists partner with community organizations in Muncie for city-wide arts and culture projects. Euliss developed the exceedingly popular Box!Box! public art project, initially with city support, that provides stipends to local artists to creatively paint traffic boxes throughout the city.

In her message to MACC members Euliss noted, “The ongoing success of every single MACC initiative requires optimism, passion, collaboration, resilience, and big-heartedness from the folks involved at every level. It has been an incredible honor to help guide the organization and be part of this work in the city I will always call home.”

Betty Brewer, president of the MACC Board of Directors stated, “Braydee has taken the Muncie Arts and Culture Council to heights well beyond my expectations. In fact, she has been difficult to keep up with and challenged my own views of what this organization can accomplish. She has positioned MACC for future success with its next executive director.”

During the personnel transition, day-to-day operations of the MACC office will be managed by current PlySpace Coordinator, Erin Williams. Erin can be reached at erin@munciearts.org. The board has formed a committee to conduct the search for the next leader of the Muncie Arts and Culture Council. Information is available at www.munciearts.org.
