Muncie, Indiana—The 2018 City of Muncie Policeman’s Ball was held September 29th at Cornerstone Center for the Arts.
The event was a benefit for the Domestic Violence Unit of the Muncie Police Department. In 2017, the Muncie Police Department responded to 2,520 domestic violence calls. The department defines domestic violence as “a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner, to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner.”
The Muncie Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit is dedicated to serve victims and family members affected by this violence. Additionally, uniform officers are specially trained to better identify and respond to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
