More than 97% of Indiana businesses are classified as “small,” and small business and entrepreneurship continue to build a strong state economy, according to the Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC). The Center is celebrating all aspects of entrepreneurship and all stages of business development during Indiana Entrepreneurship Week from June 19-25.

The East Central ISBDC is working together with area partners to present a variety of events during Entrepreneurship Week. Entrepreneurs who have started businesses recently with the help of the East Central ISBDC will be honored at The MIX. This free event is from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, at the Innovation Connector, 1208 W. White River Blvd. in Muncie. Snacks and light refreshments will be served and a local brewer will have beverages at the cash bar.

Dirk Webb, Business Development Manager at the Flagship Enterprise Center, will be the featured speaker at “Flagship Microloan: Another Tool for Your Toolbox.” This workshop is from 8 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, at the Innovation Center, 814 E. Main St. in Richmond. The expert panel discussion will include Dacia DaVinney of First Bank Richmond, Ben Brock of West End Bank, Peggy Cenova of the East Central ISBDC, and Luann Lieurance of the Small Business Administration.
