Muncie, IN—Muncie Civic Theatre proudly presents To Kill a Mockingbird, on the Main Stage theatre. Audiences are invited to see this powerful production beginning February 3rd through February 18th.
To Kill A Mockingbird is an American literary classic set in 1935 in the American South. The story chronicles the life and career of Atticus Finch, his daughter Scout, and their family and friends as they navigate issues of social justice in their community. The story challenges its audiences to engage in reflection on the ideas of race, identity, and justice.
Adapted by Christopher Sergel from Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, To Kill a Mockingbird is directed by Ball State University’s Associate Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Dr. Michael O’Hara. The production stars Eleanor Cooper as Scout, Michael Kleeberg as Atticus Finch, Timothy Ziuchkovski as Jem, Nathan Hart as Bob Ewell, and Michael Sales as Tom Robinson.
Civic’s Education Committee is excited to be further accomplishing the mission of theatre performance, education, and outreach by providing To Kill a Mockingbird school field trips as an educational opportunity to local students and teachers. Classes from local schools include Wes Del, Yorktown, Delta, Fishers, Burris, and Jay County. This is the first occasion in which Muncie Civic Theatre has incorporated field trips into their Main Stage Series, and they look forward to offering similar opportunities for students in the future.
