Help bring awareness and raise funds for Delaware County’s child advocacy program
By: Ashley Soldaat—
This Friday, October 28th from 6:00PM to 9:00PM, come out to the Delaware County Fairgrounds Memorial Building for a family friendly Halloween Party targeting young children ages 3-12.
Join us for Halloween games, arts & crafts, science experiments and yummy treats at our concession stand. Our goal is to provide safe, affordable, family fun for anyone in the community at a familiar and accessible location.
All proceeds go to support the Delaware County CASA Program. If you are unfamiliar with our program, we are part of a nationwide organization that trains community volunteers to advocate for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Visit our website www.delawarecountycasa.org to learn more.
Our community has been facing increased numbers in our child abuse and neglect cases and our goal is to find an advocate for every child that is in the child welfare system. We are in desperate need of more volunteers to serve all the 300+ children we have on our waitlist. In order to do that, we are trying to bring more awareness to our program and hopefully raise some additional funds through our 501c3 Advisory Board. Our biggest obstacle is that not enough people in our community are aware that this volunteer opportunity exists. We will have a lot of information about the CASA program displayed for the adults to view during the Halloween event.
We encourage all the little ones to dress up in their costume for our costume contest!!! Visit any First Merchants Bank in Delaware County for pre-sale tickets. Admission is $3 per child, ages 3 – 12, regardless of family size. Preorder cost is $3 per child, ages 3 – 12, OR $10 for a family. Adults and Children 2 and under – FREE.
