MUNCIE, IN—Cornerstone Center for the Arts is celebrating a milestone year in 2026, marking the 100th anniversary of the historic Muncie Masonic Temple while stepping into an exciting new chapter of leadership and community impact.
To kick off the celebration, Cornerstone hosted Illuminate the Arts, welcoming more than 230 guests for an evening of performances, storytelling, and connection. Highlights included a musical presentation by the Masterworks Chorale, a historical panel in partnership with the Delaware County Historical Society, and the debut of a new documentary exploring the building’s transformation over the past century. The film will be released publicly soon; follow Cornerstone on social media for updates on how you can see this film!
The evening also marked the introduction of Treva McJury as Cornerstone’s new Executive Director, signaling strong momentum for the organization’s future. A familiar face to our community, Treva brings more than a decade of experience building meaningful community partnerships in Muncie, believing in the power of the arts to bring people together and strengthen community. As Executive Director, she is focused on expanding access, growing partnerships, and ensuring Cornerstone continues to be a welcoming space where creativity and connection thrive.
“While the purpose of the building has evolved over the years, one thing has remained constant: this space has always been a place where the community comes together,” said Kourtney McCauliff, Board Chair of Cornerstone Center for the Arts. “Cornerstone continues to bring people together, creating a space where community, creativity, and belonging intersect.”
In 2025 alone, Cornerstone engaged more than 780 students in classes and welcomed over 10,000 visitors through 150+ events, demonstrating its continued role as a vibrant hub for creativity and community.
As part of the building’s 100th anniversary, Cornerstone is working toward a $100,000 fundraising goal to support arts education, scholarships, and the ongoing needs of the organization. Illuminate the Arts served as the kickoff to this effort, raising more than $10,000 during the evening alone; an encouraging start toward sustaining the arts in our community, but your help is needed to reach the goal!
With new leadership and growing community support, Cornerstone remains focused on what comes next, creating opportunities for people of all ages to explore the arts, connect, and engage.
