MUNCIE, IN—Boyce, a trusted financial ERP software solutions provider for public sector organizations across Indiana, proudly marks 125 years in business. Founded in 1899 by A.E. Boyce, Boyce has grown from a small, local enterprise into a leader in financial management software solutions for schools, municipalities, utilities, and libraries. This milestone honors the legacy of the Boyce and Galliher families, who stewarded the business for its first 122 years before passing the torch to the current Muncie-based ownership.
Throughout its history, Boyce Systems has embodied the spirit of Hoosiers serving Hoosiers, building deep roots in Muncie and Delaware County, and maintaining a steadfast commitment to the community. The company’s recent growth—including a 20% expansion in team headcount over the past several years—reflects a forward-looking investment in talent and resources that will allow it to continue serving Indiana’s public sector organizations for years.
“Our team has been the heartbeat of Boyce, from our beginnings to this milestone today,” said Jason Harrington, CEO of Boyce. “Their hard work, creativity, and dedication to quality have driven our success and our customers’ ability to run their financial operations more efficiently and compliantly. As we celebrate 125 years, we look forward to a future of continued innovation, with the same commitment to service and community that has been our foundation since 1899.”
Casey Stanley, President of Boyce, echoed this sentiment: “Reaching this milestone is about honoring those who built Boyce, serving the Hoosiers who rely on us today, and looking forward to the opportunities ahead. It’s an exciting time for Boyce as we invest in new technologies and team growth to serve our customers across Indiana better.”
Boyce has experienced remarkable technology growth in recent years as it has transitioned 85% of its schools’ customer base to cloud computing, enhancing financial operations. Now, Boyce is set to expand its cloud software offerings to municipalities, utilities, and libraries over the next few years.
Recently, Boyce introduced its enhanced functionality—Employee Hub for school customers and Boyce Cloud Billing for municipalities—during its second annual conference, Boyce Amplify LIVE, held in August and October 2024. Combined, these customer events brought together over 350 customers and featured speakers from the Indiana State Board of Accounts and the Indiana Department of Education.
Paul Joyce, State Examiner of the Indiana State Board of Accounts, shared, “Congratulations to Boyce on this milestone anniversary. We appreciate their continued commitment to financial accountability and transparency in reporting.” Boyce holds close relationships with state organizations to help their customers stay up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Dr. Scott Bowling, Executive Director of IASBO, added, “On behalf of the Indiana Association of School Business Officials, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Boyce on reaching the remarkable milestone of 125 years in business! Boyce’s unwavering commitment to providing innovative financial software solutions has greatly enhanced the operational efficiency of many school corporations across the state. Your dedication to supporting the educational community has made a lasting impact, and we are grateful for your partnership in helping districts navigate the complexities unique to school financial management. Congratulations once again on this impressive milestone.”
Matt Greller, CEO of Aim (Accelerate Indiana Municipalities), shared his congratulations, “As an organization that has been advocating for cities and towns for more than 130 years, we certainly appreciate the commitment and trust necessary to have such longevity. Congratulations to Boyce Systems on their 125-year milestone and dedication to serving Indiana’s municipalities, as well as many other Hoosier public units.”
As Boyce looks to the future, it remains committed to delivering robust solutions that streamline public sector operations, from financial management to payroll and utility billing, ensuring that Indiana’s schools, local governments, and libraries have the support they need to thrive.
