MUNCIE, Indiana – The David Owsley Museum of Art (DOMA) at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, is inviting members of the Muncie community to apply for the Docent Learning Program. A docent is a volunteer trained to facilitate learning in the museum through a variety of activities and techniques.
To learn more, attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 18 at 3:30 p.m. in DOMA’s Contemporary Craft Gallery on the third floor of the Fine Arts Building, 2021 Riverside Avenue.
The docent program follows the Ball State semester calendar and meets most Wednesdays during the academic year from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. Additional training and mentoring with experienced docents and staff continue throughout the year. No art experience is required, however an interest in art and a willingness to learn and interact with museum visitors are important. For more information, contact Maureen Nicholson at 765-285-3372.
