By Jonathon Bennett—
Muncie, Ind. – Cornerstone Center for the Arts, 520 W. Main St., recently launched its own podcast: Cornercast, a monthly interview-style program with host Jonathon Bennett (“John Kafi”), who talks to Indiana artists and musicians about their artistic and community pursuits in the format of four segments: Artist of the Month, Mic Check, Local Focus, and Meet the Staff.
The Artist of the Month segment spotlights the Judith Barnes Memorial Gallery on the second floor of Cornerstone Center for the Arts, where the work of a different visual artist is displayed each month. The Mic Check segment highlights local music artists, often ones that have performed at Cornerstone Open Mic Night, every last Friday of the month in E.B. Ball Auditorium. The Local Focus segment of the podcast focuses on a local business owner or community figure. The Meet the Staff segment features discussions with Cornerstone staff members and teaching artists.
The fourth and latest episode of the Cornercast is now streaming on SoundCloud and Spotify featuring interviews with Cornerstone Artist of the Month Cory Hanna, hip hop artist Dexidous, local businessman, author, and Church of God member Apostle Stephen P. Hargrave, and Cornerstone staff member and musician Savannah Baker.
