Muncie, IN—Students studying business at Ivy Tech Community College now have more options when they transfer to Ball State University as a result of a new agreement between the institutions.
Ivy Tech graduates in business administration may transfer directly into 11 business majors offered by Ball State’s Miller College of Business under a Guaranteed Admission Agreement.
“We have created a seamless process for students from Ivy Tech to find a home in the Miller College of Business at our University,” said Ball State Provost Susana Rivera-Mills. “We know that Ivy Tech students are highly motivated for success and will add to our campus culture. We look forward to expanding opportunities for more Hoosiers to receive their bachelor degrees from our University.”
Ball State and Ivy Tech Community College currently collaborate to offer 13 Transfer Single Articulation Pathways (TSAP). A TSAP welcomes students to complete select associate degrees at Ivy Tech and then transfer as a junior to Ball State, needing only an additional 60 credit hours to complete select bachelor degrees. With this arrangement, students who earn a minimum 2.5 GPA in their Ivy Tech program are guaranteed admission to the majority of associated Ball State major.
Previously, Ivy Tech students in business administration could directly transfer into two business majors: business administration or logistics and supply chain management. Both of the Ball State majors are offered on-campus and fully online.
“Ivy Tech is committed to student success. Many students start at Ivy Tech, receive their associate degree, and continue onto our four-year partners such as Ball State,” said Jeffrey D. Scott, Chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College of the Muncie and Henry County locations. “We value Ball State’s partnership in our transfer programs as well as our guaranteed admission process. When educational partners work together, it ensures student success, fuels the state’s labor force and adds value to our local communities.”
Ivy Tech Business Administration TSAP students now have the flexibility to select one of the following transfer majors at Ball State:
- Accounting
- Business Administration
- Business Analytics
- Computer Information Systems
- Economics
- Finance
- Human Resource Management
- Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Marketing
- Professional Selling
- Risk Management
To assist students considering transfer, Ball State opened the Transfer Center in 2019. The Transfer Center provides students with a personalized experience in their transition to Ball State. Students can make an appointment to speak with a staff member by phone or video chat about their options and how their credits will transfer. With a Transfer Flight Path, a staff member helps future Cardinals plan courses at their current school that will integrate with the curriculum at Ball State.
Christopher Sherck, Ball State’s transfer center coordinator, and the center’s team are expanding the University’s partnerships with community colleges like Ivy Tech and Vincennes University by visiting students in classrooms and meeting with advisors and students at various Ivy Tech campuses.
