Join the Muncie Symphony Orchestra and guest artist, PROJECT Trio, for “From Bach to Rock to Hip Hop!” an interactive musical journey for the entire family. This concert takes place Saturday, February 6, at 4 pm, in Emens Auditorium on the campus of Ball State University, Muncie, IN.

Tickets start at $25 for adults and $5 for youth, ages K-12. For more information contact the Emens Box Office at 765-285-1539 or visit munciesymphony.org

“PROJECT Trio is loads of fun!” exclaimed MSO Conductor and Artistic Director Doug Droste. “Who else features a beat boxing flute player? This family show will be a treat that you won’t want to miss.”

PROJECT Trio was forged out of a collective desire to draw new and diverse audiences by performing high- energy, top quality music. Using social media to broaden their reach beyond the concert stage and classroom, the Trio has its own YouTube channel, which has over 80 million views and 96,000 subscribers, making PROJECT Trio one of the most watched instrumental ensembles on the internet.

Gramophone Magazine recently singled out the group as “an ensemble willing and able to touch on the gamut of musical bases ranging from Baroque to nu-Metal and taking in pretty much every stylism in between,” while The Wall Street Journal hailed the Trio for their “wide appeal, subversive humor and first-rate playing.” The New York Times has called beat-boxing flutist Greg Pattillo “the best in the world at what he does.”

Pre-concert children’s activities begin at 3 pm. “We’re excited to offer children’s activities for all of our family concerts this season,” said Jennifer Johnson, Executive Director for Muncie Symphony Orchestra. “One of our most popular activities is the MSO Instrument Petting Zoo, which gives children and adults a chance to experience and play a variety of instruments.”

The third concert of the MSO Family Series, “Bach to Rock to Hip Hop” is sponsored by McDonalds of Muncie and The Robert A. & Beverly D. Terhune Foundation at The Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County. Concert support is provided by The Gannett Foundation and The Star Press.
