Muncie, IN—The Farmers Market at Minnetrista will be open for business on May 2nd from 9 a.m.–noon. The Farmers Market is classified an essential community service as an event which provides fresh and healthy food options for our community. Minnetrista has been working closely with the Delaware County Health Department for direction, to ensure that we are aware of all guidelines concerning COVID-19 (coronavirus) best practices.
Farmers Market will understandably look different than it has in the past as we seek to maximize the amount of people we serve while minimizing any and all health risks. The market will take place in the main parking lot, with vendors spaced out appropriately. Parking is located at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. There will a single entrance and exit, and we will be allowing no more than 50 individuals into the market at any one time. No cooked food or beverages will be made onsite and all wagons that are available will be wiped down between uses. Vendors will be provided masks and gloves and hand sanitizer stations will be available to patrons.
We are excited to provide this essential service for our community during a time of such stress and uncertainty. We look forward to seeing you (from a safe distance) for the beginning of our outdoor season on Saturday, May 2nd at 9 a.m.
Snap, WIC, IU Health Bucks, and SFMNP (Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program) will be accepted at participating vendors.
