Muncie, IN—The Muncie Indiana Transit System (MITS) board of directors and staff have agreed to extend the hours of Route #3 in order for community members to use public transportation to get to the Delaware County Fair.
The Northwest Plaza route (#3) will run until 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, July 18th and Friday, July 19th.
On these two days, 7 of MITS’ 14 routes will run past 8:00 p.m. Route #3 will make its final stop at the MITS transfer station at 8:40 p.m. Patrons will then have the opportunity to catch Whitely/Morningside Route #5, Industry Willard Route #9, Southway Centre Route #11, Walmart North/Riverside #14 or Walmart North/University #16.
This will be MITS’ second year offering extended hours on Thursday and Friday for the fair. MITS would like to see a large number of people utilize the extended hours.
If the demand for transportation during the fair is large enough, MITS may extend additional routes and/or days during the 2020 Delaware County Fair.
