Muncie, IN – Tom Bracken, retiring 2018-2019 President of the Muncie Rotary Club, recently presided over the installation ceremonies of new officers and directors for the 2019-2020 Rotary year, which began July 1st. Officers are elected to 1-year terms, while members of the Board of Directors are elected to staggered 3-year terms, so a new class of three directors is elected each year to replace the retiring class.

“I look forward to the upcoming year as Muncie Rotary Club President,” stated Kelly Shrock. “My focus, along with the officers and board members, will be on emphasizing our connections to each other, our local community and the world. Our programs will help us uncover new information about our community and learn more about how Rotary makes a difference in the world. Our service projects will emphasize our local connections by supporting Muncie Community Schools and Forward Steps programs.”
The Muncie Rotary Club, affiliated with the global service organization Rotary International, was founded in 1917 by a group of local business executives, professionals and community leaders. Muncie Rotary is a catalyst for community leadership, professional development, friendships, service and international understanding. The Club meets on Tuesdays at noon at Minnetrista for lunch, networking, a business meeting and a feature program. Membership is by invitation.

Paul Harris and three business associates founded Rotary International in 1905, in Chicago. The locations for the early club meetings rotated using each of the member’s offices – thus the name Rotary Club.
