Muncie, IN—The YMCA of Muncie was established in our community 144 years ago. During that time, we have developed and adapted to serve the changing needs of our community. From providing youth swim lessons to serving our senior population, the Y is a place where all ages, abilities and incomes are welcome.
The Y strives to remove barriers to participation in membership and programs, offering financial assistance through funds raised by the community through our Annual Campaign. With over $280,000 available, we are able to send kids from Delaware County to Camp Crosley, provide quality child care to families and offer the life saving skill of swim lessons and much more.
Our child development center, Apple Tree YMCA, will soon be transitioning into a new space at the former Mitchell Elementary School in partnership with Ball State’s Child Study Center. This new Mitchell Early Childhood and Family Center will allow the Y to serve children and families in our community while leveraging Ball State’s expertise in developing the next generation of educators. We are eager to see the impact this will have on our children entering into school and the teachers who will provide a well rounded, quality education.
Our membership branches, Downtown, Northwest and Yorktown, offer a wide variety of wellness options including group exercise, personal training and the new Les Mills BodyPump and BodyFlow classes. If you’re new to exercise, we can guide you with our Smart Start program catered to each person’s individual needs.
Camp Crosley, our summer resident camp, is in North Webster, Indiana on Little Tippecanoe Lake. Camp Crosley provides many unique experiences and opportunities for kids including: the giant swing, arts and crafts, canoeing, fishing, outdoor education, and endless enjoyment at the H2Whoa Zone! This summer our generous community has provided scholarships for 50 local kids to have the amazing opportunity that you can only get at Camp Crosley!
