Muncie, IN—Jake Sewell has always enjoyed listening to long-form audio podcasts. He likes them so much, he decided to create one of his own. So, in January of 2019, he released his first episode of “The Jake Sewell Podcast.”
In creating his podcast, Sewell had a few goals he wanted to achieve. “I wanted to help out the community,” he said. “I wanted to spotlight individuals, or business owners, or others who may have overcome significant life challenges— such as addiction, for example. I wanted to bring a positive long-form podcast to Muncie.” As of this writing, Sewell has released a total of 12 weekly podcasts of community members he has interviewed.
“I have guests on my show from many different backgrounds to discuss a variety of topics,” he said. “Through conversation, I spotlight their stories and I hope every listener can gain something from each episode.”
Sewell has worked at Mursix Corporation for the past eight years. About a month ago, Sewell moved into more of a purchasing management role and now purchases all the raw material the company uses. Mursix is a family-owned business on the northwest side of Muncie. Sewell says 75 percent of the company’s business serves the automotive industry, preparing small metal stampings and specialized wire-harnesses.
“The Jake Sewell Podcast” is available for listening and download every week through iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, Facebook, Stitcher, and the libsyn directory.
