Watch: ‘Project Poinsettia’ Delivers 1,000 Poinsettias to Local Nursing Home Residents

Muncie, IN—On December 7th and 8th, 1,000 poinsettias were delivered to local nursing home residents through Woof Boom Radio’s inaugural “Project Poinsettia.” Numerous community-minded organizations and local businesses participated in and helped sponsor the project. (See their names below.) Sponsoring businesses had their logos printed on the greeting card that was inserted into each poinsettia, so residents would know who the poinsettia was from.

Liz Valpatic, administrative assistant and marketing coordinator for Woof Boom Radio, documented the deliveries and produced, directed and edited the 3:45 video below. “I know it sounds like a cliché, but it was a very heartwarming experience,” she said.  “It was a cold day, but as we talked with the residents, they thought it was just the most beautiful thing and their responses warmed our hearts. The tiny little gesture meant so much to them. It was just an awesome, magical experience.”

J Chapman, president and CEO of Woof Boom Radio said, “The level of empathy of everyone who participated delivering the poinsettias was absolutely at its highest level, because we all realized how much people need other people. What was cool about the project was all the other companies who helped and got involved.  I could not be more proud to be part of something like this. I am very thankful to all the other companies who participated in this project.”
