Our 120th year…and We’re Still Here!
Muncie, IN—Greeters at Muncie’s oldest continuous running bazaar will welcome shoppers of all ages to the 120th Bazaar in the Woods on Saturday, November 4, 8 am – 2 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Muncie, 4800 W. Bradford Dr.
Childcare is available for a small fee.
Start the day with a breakfast of sausage casserole and cinnamon rolls at the Chalice Cafe, or take a lunch break of Australian pot pies, both prepared by Kirk Robey, chef and instructor of the culinary arts at Ivy Tech. Breakfast time is 8-10 am; Lunch is 11 am – 1:00 pm. Stop by the OUTreach booth for apple dumplings or chocolate candy and desserts at the Chocolate & More booth.
The church quilting circle has again designed and created a magnificent handmade piece of practical art. Named Hidden Circles, the quilt evokes the shape magical to people since primeval times. Circles of stone columns topped with stone mantles; circles of tepee floors; circles of worshippers around fires; circles of dancers; circles very visible but so long present, they escape awareness. Brightly colored triangles form circles throughout this year’s quilt. Hand quilted circles of various sizes are scattered around. They become more visible as one searches with determination. Raffle tickets are now on sale and through bazaar day. Cost is $5/6 or $1/each. Drawing at 2pm, November 4 (need not be present to win). Call the church for tickets if you are unable to attend, 765-288-9561.
Favorite artisans, including John Peterson, are back with pottery, woodcrafts, origami, natural bath products, and jewelry. New vendors include John Wilkens with wild bird winter roosting boxes, and Daniel and Ted Combs’ drawings, prints, sculptures and fabric works.
UU Church booths will again carry collectibles, holiday décor, jewelry, used books, and a large selection of new kitchenware, still in boxes. The Encore! Fashion Boutique continues to sell its upscale, gently-used clothing for women, plus a variety of accessories. Gourmet & More will have delicious baked goods – eat now or freeze for the holidays. The popular Plant Booth is back with common and exotic plants to brighten your home during the upcoming winter months.
The Silent Auction also returns with its quality and upscale used merchandise. Silent Auction is open for bids until 1 pm on bazaar day. You need not be present at close of bids just reachable by phone. Buyers often find a perfect fit for their home or for a gift.
The Tool Shop has a huge assortment of tools, from small hand tools to power tools. You’ll find a lathe, standing drill press, bench saw and other related items to start or complete a tool collection. Anyone handy with tools will want to spend time at this booth.
