Hillcroft Industries in Muncie Celebrates ISO 9001:2015 Certification

Muncie, IN Hillcroft Industries, a division of Hillcroft Services, Inc., received its ISO 9001:2015 certificate of registration for its quality management system on July 19, 2017.  “ISO 9001 is not only a validation of our quality management system, but a validation of our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction,” said Mike Salmon, VP Business Development.

Hillcroft Industries, formerly Cannon Industries, has performed parts assembly, packaging, kitting, collating, and sorting work for various industries in East Central Indiana for over 60 years.  Customers have included local businesses, OEMs, Tier 1 automotive suppliers, and international manufacturers and distributers from various industries.  Hillcroft Industries’ quality and customer satisfaction have progressed significantly in the last three years, which makes it a prime business partner for contract work and satisfying staffing needs.

Our journey began nearly four years ago.

Like many organizations, Hillcroft Industries identified several opportunities for improvements in quality and customer satisfaction.  Too often, Band-Aids were applied to symptoms instead of permanent solutions to problems based on root cause analysis.  As a result, recurring problems surfaced and customer satisfaction was compromised.

We knew there was a need for change that would bring about sustained improvements in quality and customer service that would lead to high customer satisfaction.  So, we embarked on an ambitious goal of creating and implementing a quality management system that included ISO certification.  It was a long, arduous journey—an investment that is now paying dividends.  Granted, SAI Global validated Hillcroft’s quality management system through certification; more important, though, Hillcroft’s customers validated its quality management system.  For example, at the close of this recent fiscal year, Hillcroft achieved a 99.98% quality yield.  As a result, Hillcroft also reported 100% customer satisfaction from its last three surveys!  These two results were significant improvements from previous years.

Hillcroft has constructed a quality management system that is consistently providing high-quality products and services along with high customer satisfaction.  We’ve traded in our Band-Aids for quality tools that help identify root causes and subsequent corrective action that produces permanent solutions to problems.  This helps our business partners solve quality, production, and staffing problems, strengthening their relationships with their customers.
