Muncie Innovation Connector to host benefit for Delaware County non-profits January 20-21, 2018
YORKTOWN, Ind. – eKeeper Systems, an IT consulting firm providing comprehensive technology services to companies throughout Central Indiana, announced the 2nd annual Website Thru The Nite (WTTN) challenge today, calling for volunteers and non-profit participants in Delaware County to come together at Muncie’s Innovation Connector, January 20-21, 2018.
The challenge will bring technical volunteers with web development experience to the table at Muncie’s Innovation Connector, where they will be paired with a local business in need of an enhanced or original website. Grouped into self-assembled teams, these volunteers will be provided with the branded elements each beneficiary specifies – including logos, photos, employee biographies, etc. – and will commit 24 consecutive hours to building that beneficiary a new online presence, from start to finish. Volunteers and non-profits will not know who they will be paired with until the day of the event.
Non-profits in need of a website are encouraged to apply through the WTTN site for a chance to receive a new website free of charge. Applications are being accepted for non-profits & technical volunteers through November 21st, 2017 with a decision being made on the selected applicants shortly after. Ideal candidates include non-profits who serve residents in Delaware County, and either have no web presence at all, or an outdated website requiring an upgrade. Technical volunteers are also encouraged to apply.
Board members leading the event include:
- Erin Ailstock, Muncie-Delaware Chamber of Commerce
- Dakota Crabtree, The Thompson Group
- Alexis Dishman, Muncie Innovation Connector
- Toni Estep, TRE Consulting LLC
- Richard Gill, Gill Bros. Furniture
- Dustin Humm, eKeeper Systems, Inc.
- Jim Needham, Assistant Professor, Ball State university, Retired
- Ashli Smith, Spotted Monkey Marketing
Website Thru The Nite will be funded through in-kind donations and sponsorship opportunities, to avoid drawing available grants or funds away from other non-profits.
“The inaugural event was a great success,” says Dustin Humm, Website Thru The Night board member and president of eKeeper Systems. “The web sites that were created by the volunteers were of extreme high quality and we were all impressed with the dedication the teams had in serving the non-profits throughout the event. I was personally blown away by the amount of camaraderie that was created in such a short period of time – we spent so much time laughing and joking around with everyone throughout the 24 hours that I will not soon forget any of the people that helped make the event a success.”
