If you’re hankering for some nostalgia AND great food, pull into Burkies Drive-In. One of Muncie’s most popular landmarks, the restaurant has served Muncie residents since 1954. Burkie’s is the oldest operational restaurant in Delaware County. Their famous outdoor sign is the oldest operational sign of that era in Delaware County. The sign was recently restored with fresh paint and authentic bulbs.
The restaurant is now owned by Troy Stovall—who moved to Muncie from Michigan in order to open the new restaurant, —along with business partner Jonah Sizemore.
Just like the good ole’ days, customers are waited on and served by carhops. (Don’t forget to tip!)

The menu is much the same under the restaurants new management. You’ll still find the world’s best tenderloin and their other signature sandwiches, like the Burkie’s Triple- Decker BLT and fried fish sandwich. All of Burkie’s menu items are freshly prepared and made-to-order. Burkie’s is also well-known for their awesome onion rings.
Kid’s meals with reduced portions are available, too.
As a community-minded business, Burkie’s is involved with events such as their recent car show held in conjunction with the Twisted Wrenches car club. Vintage cars and drive-in’s go together right?
