By definition, a home is a birthplace or any location of residence. But the term often exceeds these boundaries and means something different to each person.
Home can be a feeling, or a place you come back to no matter where else you go.
But what does home mean to someone who was born without one, or to someone who finds herself homeless?
On July 8, The Facing Project will try to answer these questions and capture several interpretations of home. Eight celebrity writers from the Muncie area will tell the stories of community members they admire, and actors will bring the stories to life on stage at Morrow’s Meadow Park in Yorktown for “A Midsummer Night’s Narrative: A Storytelling Festival.”
Beginning at 6 p.m., the festival will include an authors fair, a live band, and poems while you wait. You can also grab a bite from one of the food trucks or ice cream stands. Story performances will begin at 7 p.m.
Celebrity writers include Bibi Bahrami, Steve Brown, Wil Davis, Angie Rogers-Howell, Kelly Kirby Shrock, Scott Truex, Dorica Young-Watson, and Steph Wiechmann. These individuals will be available for a meet-and-greet during the festival.
Tickets are $20 for the general public and $10 for students. They can be purchased at give.classy.org/munciestories.
