MUNCIE, IN—The Mid-American Conference has announced its 2025 football schedule, completing a 12-game slate for Ball State that begins with power conference matchups at Purdue and Auburn, followed by a home opener against non-league foe New Hampshire, at Scheumann Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 13.

Key dates highlighting the schedule begin with that home opener against the Wildcats, showcasing Ball State’s Family Weekend in the Cardinals’ first meeting against the Wildcats since 2009. The Cardinals open MAC play on Community Day, Oct. 4, when Ball State hosts Ohio. The University and football program celebrate homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 18, when the Cardinals battle Akron in what is the Zips’ first visit to Muncie in nearly a decade (Oct. 22, 2016).

In its first year under coach Mike Uremovich, Ball State visits West Lafayette to open the 2025 campaign, facing the Boilermakers for the first time since 2010, and the ninth time in program history. A week later, the Cardinals face an SEC opponent for the fourth time in the past three seasons, while visiting Auburn.

Non-conference bouts against UNH and at Connecticut, Sept. 20, precede a bye week and lead into an eight-game MAC schedule that begins with the Oct. 4 game against the Bobcats.

Ball State continues its 51st season in the MAC by visiting Western Michigan, Oct. 11. After its homecoming date against Akron, Ball State visits Northern Illinois in what is the Huskies’ final season in the MAC. It is a reunion date, or sorts, with several members of the Ball State coaching staff, including Uremovich, having launched their careers in DeKalb. It also is a continuation of the Bronze Stalk rivalry series, which has been won the past three seasons by Ball State.

After a Week 10 bye, the Cardinals begin an annual segment of MAC-tion games with a Wednesday night, Nov. 5, tussle at Scheumann Stadium against Kent State. Ball State concludes the schedule with consecutive home games – against Kent State and Eastern Michigan, followed by road matchups at Toledo and Miami.

The Wednesday night MAC-tion battle against the Golden Flashes is the Cardinals’ only midweek game this year. The regular season concludes with the Redbird Rivalry at Miami, Nov. 29, the Saturday following Thanksgiving. The MAC Championship Game is scheduled the following week on Saturday, Dec. 6.

“As we start spring practice next week, it’s exciting to see our 2025 schedule become official,” said first-year head coach Uremovich. “We have a very challenging non-conference schedule that will prepare us for conference play. There is a tremendous amount of work that needs to be done in our program between now and our opener at Purdue. Our staff could not be more excited to begin the on-the-field phase with next Tuesday’s first spring practice!”
