By Cornerstone Board of Directors—
MUNCIE, IN – We’re excited to share some amazing news from Cornerstone Center for the Arts.
First, we added Stephanie Michaels as our Director of Programs. She brings more than 10 years of experience in arts education and joined our already talented team. Second, we’ve been selected as a finalist for the WIBU (Women in Business Unlimited) Leadership Organization Award. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to empowering the community through arts and leadership, especially in supporting women as artists, educators, and professionals.
In addition to this exciting news, Cornerstone has launched a fundraising campaign with a goal to raise $6,000 by November 30th. Thanks to a generous silent donor, all donations will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of each contribution. Donations can also be made via check by being mailed to 520 E. Main Street Muncie, IN 47305.
The funds raised will directly support Cornerstone’s mission to engage and enrich the Muncie community by providing opportunities for creative expression, educational arts programs, and hosting community events in its historic downtown space. Cornerstone offers arts programming for all ages and skill levels, from ceramics and painting to fencing and stained glass workshops. In 2024 alone, the center welcomed over 375 students into its classes, with more programs planned for 2025.
“We’re so proud of the growth we’ve experienced this year,” said Kourtney McCauliff, Board Chair at Cornerstone. “Our ceramics classes are consistently sold out, and we’re introducing new options like fencing and stained glass to bring fresh opportunities to the community. We’re especially grateful for a recent Indiana Arts Commission grant, which has expanded our financial aid program, making our classes more accessible to those who may not otherwise be able to participate.”
We invite everyone to contribute and help us reach our fundraising goal. With every donation being matched, this is a fantastic opportunity for the community to support the arts and help us continue to grow and thrive in 2025.
