DELAWARE COUNTY—On Wednesday September 25, 2024 Delta High School’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host their annual “See You at the Pole” event to celebrate the National Day of Student Prayer.

According to an East Central Indiana Fellowship of Christian Athlete’s press release, the event started back in 1990 with just 10 students gathering to pray and has since become a movement.

Although “See You at the Pole” has been happening for 30 years, last year was my first time attending and let me tell you, this event is so powerful.

Just seeing all of these students gather around the flag pole to pray for their leaders, friends, family, etc. is amazing and very impactful. This year I expect it will be no different. If this event tells you anything about the way God will move through America’s youth then I think we are going to see a revival.

We have seen time and time again God is not done with our youth.  Instead,  he is just getting started. If you don’t believe me, take it from the words of the students themselves.

For instance, Freshman Kiptyn Berry told me that last year at “See You at the Pole” he “thought it was a very meaningful experience that really brought out the best in christianity.” Junior Ruth Sherck said that she loved it last year and said that some of the highlights were the worship and all the people that showed up.

She said that this year she hopes to see more people come. Also Junior Hudson Ewing said “It was fantastic to see. The whole school coming together to worship was special.” And when asked about what he hoped to see this year he said “more people to come.”  Another Delta High school student that had high praise for “See You at the Pole” was sophmore Isaiah Wine. Wine said, “I thought that it was very cool seeing all the people coming.” Freshman Shiloh Bunch said “It was very moving to share her faith with others at her school and that she hopes to see an increase in people coming to Christ.”

Finally, freshman Bryce Carmichael said, “It was really fun and exposed a lot of people to Christ.” So you see, all of these students have been impacted by this event.

I got to see last year at the Delta Middle School huddle this event was not just an event that ended and nothing changed, but instead lead to an increase in people coming to our huddle. If every student came out and prayed on this day for the city of Muncie and surrounding Delaware County how much would change for the better?

Faith really can move mountains, so save the date September 25, 2024 and meet us at the Delta High School flagpole for our annual “See You at the Pole” event.
