MUNCIE, IN—LaShanta Vaughn, CEO and Executive Director of Visit Muncie, the local visitor’s bureau, proudly announces the hiring of Joni Beymer as its Business Manager.
Beymer started last week and brings over 15 years of experience in a similar role at the Horizon Convention Center where she handled numerous human resources, finance and administrative functions. Visit Muncie is the governing body of Destination: Muncie whose offices are on South Walnut Street in downtown Muncie.
“This is a key role for us, and Joni is just perfect for it,” said Vaughn. “She knows our community and knows that we do more than serve visitors. We are a great resource to local residents as well.”
Beymer holds a Business Administration degree from Ivy Tech and has numerous professional development workshops to her credit. She regularly attends Shafer Leadership Academy sessions and is a member of the East Central Indiana Human Resource Association and Women in Business Unlimited. She is also a graduate of the Academy for Community Leadership.
“Joni has been an asset to Muncie for years and we are thrilled to have her on our team,” said Jarod Walls, president of the board of Visit Muncie. “She’s no stranger to selling our community.”
Beymer is a Muncie area enthusiast who loves attractions like the Cardinal Greenway, Prairie Creek Reservoir, and the David Owsley Museum of Art, as well as Muncie delicacies like Greeks, Pizza King, and Puerta Vallarta.
Destination: Muncie is a resource for making visitors feel at home and for helping locals feel connected to the community. Its mission is to enhance the economy and quality of life of Muncie and Delaware County by collaboratively leading the marketing and promotion of the region’s attractions, cultural assets, and outdoor resources to attract people from around the state, country and world.

Visit Muncie, Inc. emanated from The Delaware County Convention and Tourism Commission which is established in the county code and funded by the county innkeepers tax. Board members are appointed by the Mayor and the County Commissioners.
