ANDERSON, INThe 17th Annual Heart of Indiana United Way/Madison County Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic, presented by Community Hospital Anderson, raised over $54,000 on July 19 at Anderson Country Club. 40 teams along with more than 30 sponsors and many volunteers helped to make the day a great success. Proceeds from the Golf Classic benefit local programs supported by Heart of Indiana United Way and the Madison County Chamber that create equitable opportunities and help individuals, families and businesses thrive.

These efforts include United Way’s THRIVE Network which provides personalized coaching, resources, and supports for those who are working yet financially struggling to make ends meet. It also supports United Way’s Read and Achieve grade-level reading programs focused on helping our community’s children to be successful in school and life and safety-net funding for food, shelter, utilities, childcare and more. Supported efforts by the Chamber include economic development, business networking and helping businesses connect to potential customers and resources in order to build a strong business community in Madison County.

At the Golf Classic, the Madison County Chamber and United Way also hosted the 10th Annual 50/50 Golf Ball Drop sponsored by Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The winner, from Jane Pauley, generously donated over $1200+ in winnings back to the organizations to further support the event and the impact of their programs in the community.

The winning teams and contest winners for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places as well as Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Longest Putt and Team Putting contest are listed below.
