Rotary Club of Muncie Awards Grants to Nine Local Organizations for 2023

MUNCIE, IN – Robert LaFrance, President of The Muncie Rotary Club, announced nine organizations will receive grants from the Rotary Fund Endowment held at the Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County for 2023.

“Our board and executive committee were astonished by the amount of interest we garnered this year for our grant opportunity.” Mr. LaFrance stated. “We had so many amazing applications from many different deserving organizations, which made our job of selecting winners extremely difficult.”

Several different organizations (18) submitted applications requesting funding from the Muncie Rotary Club for more than $27,000 in total. The Club was proud to fully or partially fund nine organizations for a total of $11,820 with the limited amount of annual spendable funding from its endowment.

The organizations receiving grants in 2023 include:

8twelve Coalition
$1,000 for business breakfast meeting support in the Thomas Park/Avondale and South-Central neighborhoods.

Funders Forum
$1,000 Support focus on early childhood education.

Habitat for Humanity
$1,200 Annual maintenance and upkeep for Pocket Park and Community Garden on Southside.

Home Savers
$1,500 Construction of wheelchair ramps to help elderly/disabled homeowners.

Little Red Door Cancer Agency
$1,120 Technology Support: Purchase a Meeting Owl Pro.

Muncie Children’s Museum
1,500 Eclipse viewing kits

Muncie Civic Theatre
$1,500 Barrier-Free Theatre.

Second Harvest
$1,500 Big Idea Program and Choice School Pantry.

Soup Kitchen of Muncie
$1,500 Secure food to distribute to guests at no cost.

The Rotary Club of Muncie Fund at The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County was established in 1994 and has funded more than $200,000 in grants since its inception.  Public, private and corporate contributions to the Rotary Club of Muncie Fund are welcome and may be made by interested parties by sending the donation to the Rotary Club of Muncie Fund at The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, P.O. Box 807, Muncie, IN 47308.  Annual grants from the Rotary Club of Muncie Fund are used to support specific programs of local area not-for-profit organizations.
