MUNCIE, IN—To celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, Masterworks Chorale will present its annual holiday concert, “The Spirit of the Season,” on Saturday, December 16th at 7:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church. Masterworks Chorale will share the stage with baritone soloist John Glann and cellist Heather Scott as it presents a wide tapestry of winter and holiday choral music.

The concert title “Spirit of the Season” reflects one of the songs that will be performed from the beloved holiday classic The Polar Express. From familiar carols of old to new favorites, Masterworks Chorale’s selections celebrate the music of the season, spread holiday cheer, and enjoy some musical humor along the way.

Soloist John Glann and cellist Heather Scott will both be featured on “Fantasia on Christmas Carols” by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Additionally, Glann will sing “Joseph’s Carol” by John Rutter, accompanied by the Chorale and the pipe organ at First Presbyterian Church.  Scott will join the Chorale on several carols throughout the evening and perform a featured solo medley of “Let It Snow” and “Winter Wonderland.”

A dessert reception will follow the concert in the Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $10 and are available via munciemasterworks.org or at the door. Masterworks Chorale’s season continues in 2024 with”Love on Broadway,” February 17 at the Ball State Alumni Center, and “Classical with a Capital C,” May 3 at Hazelwood Christian Church.
