INDIANAPOLIS — For the first time, Muncie Mission Ministries has launched a monthly donation program in honor of its 20th season anniversary. Local used car dealership Oak Motors supports this effort by matching any recurring monthly donations made to the nonprofit up to $10,000. Oak Motors has been supporting Muncie Mission in its quest to help at-risk Hoosiers with shelter, food, clothing, and addiction recovery programs for 12 years.
“Muncie Mission Ministries, like many of the charities we support, shares our goal of enriching the community by helping to improve quality of life, whether that be getting vulnerable people off the streets or providing financial wherewithal to those who are struggling,” said Tiger Okeley, Executive Board Member, Oak Motors. “Combining our community support goals into this new initiative will hopefully leave a large impact.”
This initiative aims to inspire an ongoing spirit of giving within the community, motivating donors to transition from sporadic support to consistent, lasting involvement by committing to monthly donations. The launch of this initiative started at Muncie Mission Ministries’ 20th anniversary golf outing on August 31 and extends throughout various events until the 20th anniversary Walk a Mile in My Shoes event on February 17th, 2024.
“We have valued Oak Motors’ support over the last 12 years, and are thrilled that they have committed to be our matching partner for our 20th season of fundraising events,” said Leigh Edwards, Director of Community Engagement, Muncie Mission Ministries. “We’re enthusiastic about the turnout of these events and hope to gain more committed lifelong donors with Oak Motors’ help.”
Since 2012, Oak Motors has contributed nearly $1 million towards local nonprofits that display a similar commitment to quality of life within their communities for those who are at risk.
