Delaware County, IN – Heart of Indiana United Way announces the winners of its 2023 Celebration Awards. The organization’s annual awards event highlights and thanks businesses and individuals who helped make a big impact over the past year through donations, volunteerism, advocacy, and partnerships. This year’s 11 award winners were announced through a short video released on May 4 and can be viewed on the Heart of Indiana United Way’s Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages.
“We wanted to have fun and try something different with this year’s awards. We also wanted to showcase several amazing donors and partners in each of our 5 counties,” said Kim Williams, Vice President of Resource Development and Marketing. “This year’s award presentation is Tik Tok-inspired and is an upbeat and engaging way to learn about all the great things happening across the region thanks to donors, partners, and supporters.”
11 awards were given out in Madison, Delaware, Henry, Fayette, and Randolph County. These awards included:

- Power of Partnership Award – PathStone Inc, multiple counties

- Community Cares Award– Nardco Heating and Air Conditioning, Madison County

- Outstanding Advocate Award– Treva Bostic, Madison County

- Shine On Award – New Castle Stainless Plate, Henry County

- Outstanding Media Advocate – The Herald Bulletin, Madison County

- Newcomer Award– M.R.S. Heating and Cooling, Henry County

- Women United MVP– Angie Rogers-Howell, Randolph County

- Community Partnership Award – Alexandra Pflug, Fayette County

- Spread the Word Award – Randolph County United, Randolph County
Delaware County award winners included Northwest Bank, Shafer Foundation, and PathStone Corp. Northwest Bank received the Live United Award for their diverse support of several United Way efforts including the Community Diaper Drive, Day of Action and being the match sponsor for the Feeding Our Neighbors campaign which supported local food pantries. Northwest Bank employees and the organization also provide generous financial support of United Way along with leadership of Women United in Delaware County. Shafer Foundation received the Literacy Champion Award for helping children to be successful in school and life through United Way’s Summer Book Giveaway. The Shafer Foundation’s support of Summer Book Giveaway in 3 Muncie schools provided over 14,000 books to 1200 elementary students. PathStone Corp. received the Power of Partnership award for leading the way in its deep commitment and partnership with the THRIVE Network, HIUW’s network dedicated to helping individuals and families build assets and become financially stable.
