MUNCIE, IN Free Comic Book Day at Aw Yeah Comics, located in Downtown Muncie, is on May 6, 2023 from 12 noon to 6 pm. Aw Yeah Comics is one of the thousands of comic book shops around the world celebrating the largest event in the comic book industry: Free Comic Book Day! Each year, thousands of participating stores give away comic books to millions of fans to introduce them to the wonderful world of comics.

“Free Comic Book Day is an awesome event that the whole family can enjoy. This is something that we love doing for the community. After the last few years, bringing people together and finding comics for everyone to enjoy is more important to us than ever. We love to see people of all ages sharing our passion for comic books,” said Christina Blanch, owner of Aw Yeah Comics. “People that enjoy comic book movies and television shows may not have ever picked up a comic book, so this is a perfect time to start. We want to welcome everyone to Aw Yeah Comics on May 6 to share our love of comic books with them.”

This is the 8th year that Aw Yeah Comics has celebrated Free Comic Book Day. In addition to free comics, Garrett Gunn and Christina Blanch, creators of the hit comic “Good Boy” (along with Kit Wallis who cannot attend), will be there signing their books. You can bring your own or you can purchase one of the books they will have for sale. Garrett will also be offering sketches of people’s pets on “Good Boy” blank covers for $40.00 each.

Guests are encouraged to dress up in costumes, either as their favorite comic book or movie character or even a creation of their own. Free Comic Book Day is the perfect opportunity to show off your love for the medium.

There are amazing titles like Dog Man, Animal Crossing, Power Rangers and of course,  Avengers, Batman, Spider-Man, Star Wars & X-Men. With comics, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
