Muncie Central Seniors Have Until May 3rd to Apply for $5,000 College Scholarship

MUNCIE, IN—Muncie Central High School seniors planning to go to college after graduation have until Wednesday, May 3, to apply for the Harris-Jones Scholarship, which is worth $5,000 and can be renewed for up to four years.

Students may secure an application from the Muncie Central Guidance Office to apply for the scholarship, which is managed by the Muncie Central High School Alumni Association.

Sherry Harris-Jones, a 1962 Muncie Central graduate, and her husband, Ralph Jones, established the endowed scholarship to support Muncie Central graduating seniors.

​​The first recipient of the scholarship was Muncie Central graduate Megan Clifford, who is a nursing major at Ball State University and will graduate in 2023.

The Muncie Central Alumni Association supports its Memorabilia Room, awards program, student scholarships and student assistance program, as well as teacher grants, through memberships and donations to the association.

Membership forms for Muncie Central alumni and non-Central graduates interested in supporting Muncie Central students and teachers are available from the alumni association’s website, https://www.munciecentralalumniassociation.com/, under “How to join.” Membership forms and donations may be mailed to Muncie Central Alumni Association, 6604 W. Talamore Court, Yorktown, IN 47396. Checks should be made payable to MCHS Alumni Association.
