By Larry Meyer—

MUNCIE, IN—Ben Stalets is not a songwriter—he’s a song.

Realizing he couldn’t wash the Toledo off, Ben leaned into it, inspired by Rust Belt blue-collar underdogs and anti- heroes. Talking to Ben is like talking to an old friend, and that’s exactly how his songs are written and how his shows are performed.

As comfortable in a bar room as he is in a listening room, by the 3rd verse of the first song, Stalets will have the room quiet enough to hear someone clutching their pearls, just before the refrain gives permission to laugh again.

Ben has released two albums of original material, with a third slated for 2023 on Detroit’s WhistlePig Records.

“As quirky as real life, Ben Stalets stays true to his Ohio-bred, blue-collar work ethic.  With echoes of country and rock storytellers from the past, Ben Stalets charts his own path.” – Pressroom Recordings

“Ben Stalets has a time-out-of mind quality about him, side-stepping contemporary musical trends.” – Pop Matters
