MUNCIE, IN—Shafer Leadership Academy invites young professionals to invest in their success during an interactive virtual program to equip them with the skills, confidence, and connections to maximize their potential. Space is limited to 20 individuals, and the application deadline is Monday, Dec. 12.
EMPOWER: Career Investment for Young Professionals involves 75-minute sessions each Wednesday for 10 weeks, from January 11-March 15, 2023. SLA Executive Director Mitch Isaacs said participants will focus on five key area of career investment, including their career strengths and values, confident communication, financial future, and self-care and advocacy.
”You will learn alongside peers in a community focused cohort and walk away with a personal career empowerment guide and toolbox to help you achieve now and in the future,” he said. “You will also get a digital certificate and badge to display on your LinkedIn profile.”
The workplace is difficult to navigate, Isaacs said. Five facilitators will advise and empower participants to maneuver choppy waters of the workforce with confidence. Participants will also engage in a one-on-one coaching session with the program lead, Eilis Wasserman, a virtual career coach.
“One of the best parts about this program is that it is virtual, which makes the experience accessible to all,” Wasserman added. “You’ll connect and network with participants and facilitators across Indiana and beyond through Zoom and Slack. The curriculum is for those who want to become leaders in their fields and positive change agents at the office and in the community.”
