MUNCIE, IN – Did you attend the Delaware County Fair this year? If you went through the front gates, you might have seen Dale Basham of the Muncie Rotary Club directing traffic. Mr. Basham has organized fellow Rotarians to help Muncie Central High School students raise funds for various CHS sports teams and clubs. The teams and clubs earn money while staffing the front gate and the Muncie Rotary Club provides matching funds.

This year, Dale Basham presented four CHS teams and clubs with a total of $2,250. Each team received $450; $200 from the county fair and $250 from the Muncie Rotary Club. The Girls Soccer Team pulled double duty and earned $900. Over 25 Rotarians volunteered their time to assist the Girls Soccer Team, Girls Volleyball Team, National Honor Society, and Girls Tennis Team with this fundraiser.

As a retiree from Muncie Schools, Basham continues to provide support through his work in Rotary.

Muncie Rotary is a catalyst for community leadership, professional development, friendships, service and international understanding. The Club meets on Tuesdays at noon at Minnetrista for lunch, networking, a business meeting and a feature program. If you would like to attend one of our meetings and learn more about being a Rotarian, please sign up at https://www.muncierotary.org.
