Nearly $400,000 in matching funds are available for this year’s campaign

EAST CENTRAL INDIANA – Heart of Indiana United Way’s annual fundraising campaign has begun. Kicking off this year’s effort is a generous match opportunity and the launch of Women United across the region.

Leading the way in the launch of Women United are 6 passionate women, each representing a different part of Heart of Indiana United Way’s region. Angie Rogers-Howell, Jennifer Gibson, Melissa Greer, Marisa Little, Treva Bostic, and Carrie Barrett are boldly serving as Women United leads and the faces of this year’s campaign efforts for Heart of Indiana United Way.

Women United is about the women of our community coming together to lead, speak up, and take action to support women, children, and the community through the mission of United Way. Their volunteer-led efforts will engage local women in events, raising money, volunteering, advocating, and giving. Money raised through Women United efforts this year will be eligible to be matched.

One of the highlights of this year’s campaign is a combined match pool of $397,000 funded by two entities – the Ball Brothers Foundation and Indiana United Ways. Match dollars granted by Indiana United Ways are funded by the Lilly Endowment. There are several diverse ways that donors can qualify to have all, or part of their gifts matched. These include new personal donor gifts of $100 or more and increasing last year’s gift by at least $100 to earn a $1 for $1 match. Donors interested in becoming new Tocqueville donors will earn a $2 for $1 match on their gift. Businesses and workplaces will also have options to have their corporate and employee gifts matched. For information on all available match options, contact Heart of Indiana United Way.

“Every year, we are inspired by our donors and volunteers who step up to help us,” said Heart of Indiana United Way President and CEO Jenni Marsh. “Women United is going to be a powerful force and this match is going to go a long way in helping us fund programs that embolden children and families on their path to lifelong success. This is my invitation to the community to join those who have stepped up and be a part of this year’s campaign.”

Women United planning committees are kicking off now across the region. If you would like to take part or learn more call 765-288-5566 or fill out an interest form at HeartOfIndianaUnitedWay.org/women-united
