Opening Coincides with Muncie’s First Thursday Event

MUNCIE, INLeon and Laura Crosby will open their joint art show, Thursday, Aug. 4 at Cornerstone Center for the Arts, 520 E. Main Street. They will host a reception from 5-8 p.m. at Cornerstone.

The Crosbys have collaborated on this collection to create paintings inspired by fantasy lore and fairy tales. The two incorporate acrylic pouring techniques and form achieved through utilization of paint, marker, and resin to create whimsical pieces that capture the imagination.

The audience may recognize some favorite characters and nods to stories from childhood in this fun artistic collaborative display. The show is named Pixie Pics and All Betwixt.

Leon Crosby is Cornerstone’s Education Coordinator and teaches classes, and his wife Laura is a clinical supervisor at Meridian Health Services.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts offers opportunities for creative expression for all through community and rental spaces in a historic setting.  Thousands of area residents attend events, wedding and civic events, in addition to taking classes in art, dance and music. Cornerstone is home to the Orchestra Indiana and The Bridge Church.  For additional information go to www.cornerstonearts.org or call 765-281-9503.
