MUNCIE, Ind. – The Muncie Noon Rotary Club celebrated the transition of officers for the 2022-2023 Rotary year on June 28th, 2022. Kate Stoss, retiring 2021-2022 President of the Muncie Rotary Club, introduced the incoming President, Matt Howell who praised club members for their continued commitment in upholding the mission and values of Rotary.

During the June 28th club meeting, Howell gave a presentation about his history in the Rotary Club. In 2019 he received Rotary’s “Merrill Greene” award and was also named “Rotarian of the Year in District 6560.” Howell thanked many of the members who were in attendance for supporting him throughout his Rotary career.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Muncie Rotary Club President,” stated Howell. “I’m really excited to see our members out in the community putting Service Above Self this year”.
Some of Rotary’s upcoming service projects include manning the front gate at the Delaware County Fair in July, and helping raise funds for Muncie Central High School athletic teams. In fair weather months, members from both Rotary Clubs clean up Rotary Park along the Cardinal Greenway. The club also offers grant opportunities in August through the Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County.
The Muncie Rotary Club, affiliated with the global service organization Rotary International, was founded in 1917 by a group of local business executives, professionals and community leaders. Muncie Rotary is a catalyst for community leadership, professional development, friendships, service and international understanding. The Club meets on Tuesdays at Noon at Minnetrista for lunch, networking and a feature program.
