MUNCIE, Indiana – Ball State University’s Teachers College today was once again recognized by U.S. News & World Report for its standout graduate degree programs in education.

Ball State earned two top-30 national rankings in U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 “Best Graduate School Rankings” list, including 22nd in Elementary Teacher Education and 26th in Curriculum & Instruction, a specialty category.

Overall, Ball State ranked 76th in the nation in overall graduate education programs, an increase of 15 spots from last year’s list. Ball State now ranks in the top 17 percent of all institutions of education across the nation in its graduate offerings.

“As the largest teacher preparation provider in Indiana, we take seriously our mission of preparing committed professionals and leaders in all areas of education,” said Dr. Anand R. Marri, Teachers College dean. “This most recent recognition from U.S. News & World Report is further proof of both the quantity and the high quality of our educator programs.”

Graduate education and lifetime learning are foundational to Ball State’s strategic plan, Destination 2040: Our Flight Path. Each year, more than 5,400 graduate students choose the University for the depth and quality of its programs and the forward-thinking research they conduct with its stellar faculty.

“We are grateful that our excellent graduate programs are once again earning recognition from U.S. News & World Report,” said Dr. Adam Beach, Graduate School dean. “Our graduate programs emphasize the knowledge, methods, and skills needed for scholarly teaching, problem solving, original research, creative inquiry, and intellectual leadership, and they prepare responsible civic and professional leaders for our community, the state, the nation, and the world.”
