New owners will invest in growth and innovation as the Boyce team continues to release new software solutions in the schools, municipalities and utilities markets

Muncie, IN – A small group of Muncie, Indiana-based tech leaders announced today that they entered a deal to acquire Boyce Systems, a leading provider of financial software and forms to over 1,200 municipalities, schools, libraries, and utilities. The investment group is led by three former Ontario Systems executives, Jason Harrington, Casey Stanley, and Jay Moorman, who will assume the roles of CEO, President, and Chief Customer Officer, respectively.  The deal terms are not disclosed, and the closing of the transaction is expected by July 31st.

Longtime President and CEO Mike Galliher will move away from his operational responsibilities but remain an active and important influence on the business by serving on the Board of Directors.  Also part of the investment group is retired Ontario Systems co-founder Ron Fauquher, who has also joined Boyce Systems’ Board of Directors.

The deal adds substantial experience and capacity at a time Boyce is poised to accelerate its growth, having invested and launched several new software products to its key markets in the past few years.

“The time is right for me to pursue other interests, and I am thrilled to be handing things over to Jason, Jay, and Casey,” said Mike Galliher, President and CEO from 1991 to this transaction.  “They bring almost 75 years of collective experience managing and growing profitable software companies and, as importantly, are as committed as I in putting people first in business decisions.  They will add their go-to-market and operational experience to Boyce’s existing team and have immediate positive impact.”

The company known today as Boyce Systems was founded in 1899 and by 1912 was known for quality bookbinding, printing, forms and accounting services to municipal governments, utilities and schools.  Still serving the same primary markets, Boyce has evolved into a market-leading tech provider of information and document management systems to help organizations digitally manage accounting, financial and recordkeeping functions.

“There are many reasons to be excited about the opportunity before us at Boyce,” said Jason Harrington, new CEO of Boyce Systems.  “They are in large stable markets with significant white space and organic growth upside, have a proven product line with outstanding brands and market positions, and a talented team with deep domain expertise and a high customer service culture.”

Boyce Systems is a leading provider of financial software and forms that streamline processes, improve accuracy, and increase transparency for over 1,200 municipalities, schools, libraries, and utilities.  Flagship software products, such as Komputrol, Keystone, and BSF, empower midmarket government entities with fully featured solutions for general ledger, payroll, fixed asset management, timekeeping, billing, tailored forms management, and records retention and restoration services.

“In Boyce Systems, we are inheriting an organization with strong brand equity and growth potential,” said Casey Stanley, new President of Boyce Systems.  “We also are inheriting a family-owned small business with a wonderful legacy.  They serve more than 1,200 government entities, school systems, and libraries in the state of Indiana and have earned a reputation for doing good for their employees and the communities where they live, work, and play.  We take stewarding that legacy very seriously and will work towards even more success – and impact — in the future.”

“Boyce Systems’ customers are passionate about serving their communities, and we look forward to helping them do that efficiently and effectively,” said Jay Moorman, Boyce Systems’ new Chief Customer Officer.  “We care deeply about our customers’ success and will listen closely to their feedback and requests to deliver the best products possible.  It’s a privilege to empower these public organizations as they serve the people of the state of Indiana.”
