Muncie, IN—The YMCA of Muncie exceeded their annual campaign fundraising goal providing access to programs and opportunities to all in our community.
Campaign Co-Chairs, Delaina Boyd and Marsha McGriff, along with 70 volunteers, implemented a grass roots campaign that began in February with a virtual launch and cumulatively raised over $220,000.
Marsha McGriff, Campaign Co-Chair and Associate Vice President of Inclusive Excellence for Ball State University, had this to say about the campaign, “Our success with the annual campaign is a testament to the hard work of the amazing Y family and our incredible community. Our community – despite a global pandemic – has thrown their support behind the impactful work of the YMCA of Muncie. It is an honor to serve and support the Y and I am so proud of our community!”
The Annual Campaign is the YMCA’s fundraising effort providing financial assistance and removing barriers for participation in YMCA programs. Support of the campaign comes from local businesses and individuals. Investing in the Y provides funding and access to opportunities like LiveSTRONG @ the YMCA, outdoor education at Camp Crosley and Mitchell, and early childhood education.
Delaina Boyd, Annual Campaign Co-Chair and Associate Vice President for Community Engagement at Ball State University says’ “I am so proud of the way our community pulled together in support of the YMCA this year. The success of the campaign is a direct reflection of our generous spirit and acknowledges the important role the Y plays throughout Muncie and Delaware County.”
