Muncie, IN—YWCA Central Indiana is proud to celebrate the success of their 2020 Put Yourself In Her
H.E.E.L.S. virtual event. In the midst of a global pandemic, YWCA staff and board members were concerned with the outcome of a fundraising event, but they were determined to continue making a difference in the lives of women and children.
Moving the event online for the first time was a new experience for everybody, but the safety of their residents, staff, and community was the most important thing. “This was my first time planning the annual ‘Put Yourself In Her H.E.E.L.S.’ event. I knew I had big shoes, or heels, to fill. Finding a way to ensure the event’s success was made easy with supportive teammates.” says Marketing and Events Director, Keri Whalen.
This year, YWCA Central Indiana made the decision to honor and highlight their board members, by asking them to serve as this year’s champions. YWCA CEO, WaTasha Barnes Griffin, set a goal to raise $20,000 and with the dedication shown by the champions, that goal was met! “We are forever grateful for the overwhelming support we have received. Due to the pandemic, we weren’t sure how successful a virtual event would be. We are absolutely blown away by the support we received from the community and our H.E.E.L.S champions. Thank you all for helping us meet our $20,000 goal,” said Griffin.
YWCA Central Indiana is thrilled with the outcome of their first virtual ‘Put Yourself In Her H.E.E.L.S.’ event and we would like to extend their deepest thanks for the support they received from the community. Not only through September’s event, but for the constant support they continue to receive.
