Selma, IN – It’s a story that almost every student, and many of their parents, know almost by heart – High School Musical. And Wapahani High School is putting it’s own twist on the wildly popular Disney musical.
The WHS drama and musical department will be presenting its version of High School Musicalthree nights this week at the school’s auditorium. Performances will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week. Shows will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students.
The musical is the story of an unlikely paring of a star high school athlete and an academic standout, both who want to audition for the school play. But problems arise when a couple of rival students feel threatened by the competition and try to sabotage the tryouts. The students must work through misunderstandings, scheduling conflicts, personal egos and more to follow their dreams.
Wapahani’s production features Junior Caden Noel as Troy, Senior Camryn Curry as Gabriella, Senior Haley Morvilius as Sharpay, and Senior Hallie Bowden as Ryan.
The evening looks to be a fun night of singing, dancing and laughter for the whole family. The public is invited to attend and support these WHS students who have worked so very hard these last few months on the production. All proceeds will support the WHS drama and music department.
