Muncie, IN—Over the course of the last two years, the YMCA of Muncie has been realigning our staff structure to streamline operations in order to deepen our impact to our community. The final phase involved promoting three members of our leadership staff that exemplify hungry, humble and smart leadership.
We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Kristen McConnell to Vice President of Mission Advancement. Kristen has served the community via the YMCA for the past 18 years and has advanced through progressively more responsible positions in membership branch operations, marketing/communications and philanthropy, where she has played a key role in leading change and deepening the impact of the YMCA of Muncie. Kristen brings an unparalleled passion for the Y’s mission, vision and values to the organization’s executive leadership cabinet. Kristen is an “A” player and we are excited about her new role.
Jennifer Gilland was named the Executive Director of Youth Development. This new assignment has her providing leadership to the Mitchell Early Childhood and Family Center, School Aged Child Care, Day Camp and Youth Advancement program areas. Jennifer has served the YMCA for over 16 years in various roles within our child development area. Prior to this new position, her areas of focus have been centered on before/after school programs and directing operations for the Apple Tree Child Development Center.
Megan O’Connor has been named the Executive Director of Membership Experience. Her responsibilities in this new assignment include providing leadership to our membership service/operations, aquatics, tennis and fitness/well being teams. During her 12 years of time in our association, she has served our YMCA and our community in a variety of roles in aquatics, group exercise and membership.
Kristen, Jennifer and Megan lead amazing teams and together they will continue to broaden the impact for those we serve.
