Muncie, IN – Kelly Shrock, President of The Muncie Rotary Club, announced eight organizations will receive grants from the Rotary Club of Muncie Fund for 2019.
“We were pleased to receive seventeen applications from nonprofit organizations in the community for this year’s funding cycle,” stated Ms. Shrock. “Since 1917, the Muncie Rotary Club has maintained a heritage of supporting organizations doing good work in and for our community.” The eight organizations receiving grants in 2019 include:
A Better Way
$1,200.00
To repair and patch steps that lead into the domestic violence shelter and offices to increase safe access.
Cardinal Greenway
$476.47
To purchase a bicycle repair stand to be placed at the Gaston trailhead.
Funders Forum at the Community Foundation
$500.00
To provide support for a collaborative grant focused on substance abuse prevention and education.
Home Savers
$1,200.00
To build one wheelchair ramp and porch for an identified homeowner.
Little Red Door Cancer Agency
$1,200.00
To provide care packages to newly diagnosed cancer patients.
Motivate Our Minds
$1,200.00
To purchase items used in the literacy and math curriculum for the after-school program.
Muncie OUTreach / Muncie Pride
$1,200.00
To stage Muncie Pride 2020 to connect members of our community with resources, education and support.
Whitely Community Council
$1,200.00
To purchase shelving and carts for the food pantry program.
In addition to the monetary grants, The Muncie Rotary Club will also team with many of the above organizations on service projects during the 2019-2020 Rotary year. Checks for the grants will be presented to the recipient organizations at an upcoming Rotary meeting.
The Rotary Club of Muncie Fund at The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County was established in 1994 and has funded more than $173,715 in grants since it’s inception.
