Muncie, IN—U.S. News & World Report has released its 2019-2020 ‘Best Hospitals’ rankings that name Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital among the state’s top hospitals.
IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, part of the IU Health system, was named the No. 5 ranked regional hospital in Indiana. Besides IU Health Ball, IU Health has three other hospitals among the 10 top ranked hospitals in Indiana: IU Health Medical Center (#1), IU Health Arnett (#8) and IU Health Bloomington (#8) hospitals.

IU Health Ball also received high ratings in one adult specialty and three adult procedures/conditions included in the U.S.News & World Report Best Hospitals ratings. These include:
• Urology—high performing
• Hip replacement—high performing
• Heart failure—high performing
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) —high performing
To create the rankings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide in 25 specialties, procedures and conditions. The annual rankings, now in their 30th year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures.
