Muncie, IN—The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie is competing in A Community Thrives Challenge, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, and a fundraising program on CrowdRise by GoFundMe. A Community Thrives is a nationwide program that is focused on helping organizations by shining a national spotlight on their community building initiatives. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie has the opportunity to be awarded up to $25,000 in available project-based grants to help fund the Minds in Motion Room at the Madison St. location.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie recently completed a merger with the Roy C. Buley Center. This allowed the Clubs to provide additional programming to youth in the Muncie-Delaware County area. Attendance has more than tripled since the merger, so more space is needed to accommodate the welcome addition of Club Kids.
“We need a flexible, multipurpose and open space for our members to be able to work together in teams as needed during Power Hour and also for our Creative Movement classes in the evening. Three main changes we’d like to make to this former storage space include technology, movement, and flooring.” — COO Qiana Clemens.
A Community Thrives launched on CrowdRise by GoFundMe on Monday, March 18th, 2019 at 12 p.m. ET and will continue through Friday, April 12th, 2019 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET. The organizations in tier 1 and tier 2 that raise the most during the program will each be awarded a $25,000 grant, second place organizations will each be awarded a $15,000 grant and third place organizations will each be awarded a $10,000 grant.
Your donations throughout this campaign will go directly to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie.
